Accessing the console directly in your browser (VNC)
When you can't connect with RDP or SSH (you changed network settings by mistake, forgot your password, or there's a boot problem), this feature lets you reach your server's screen directly in your browser. You can control the server just as if you were sitting in front of its monitor, which makes it especially useful when a network settings problem blocks remote access entirely.
How to use it
- Select your server in your Dashboard.
- While the server is "Running", the "Console access (VNC)" card appears.
- Click the "Open console" button to open the console in a new window.
Good to know
- The console link is valid for only 5 minutes. If the window was closed or the time ran out, click "Open console" again to get a new one.
- Mouse/keyboard input in the VNC console may feel somewhat slower than a regular remote connection. We recommend using RDP or SSH for everyday remote access and keeping VNC for troubleshooting.
- You can't open the VNC console while the server is "Stopped". Start the server first.
