Checking traffic usage and buying more

Each server has a daily traffic (bandwidth) allowance, which resets every day. You can check usage in real time on the server details page in your Dashboard.

What happens when I use up my traffic?

If you go over the daily allowance, a speed limit (QoS) kicks in and the server's network speed may slow down. The server won't shut down and access won't be completely blocked, but your service may respond noticeably more slowly.

Email notice at 80% usage

If either inbound or outbound traffic goes over 80% of the daily allowance, we'll send you a notice email. We don't send it twice on the same day, and monitoring starts again when the allowance resets the next day.

Buying more traffic

1. Go to the server details page in your Dashboard.
2. Click the "Add traffic" button.
3. Choose the direction (inbound/outbound) and how much to add (GB).
4. Once you complete payment in the payment window, it's applied immediately.

If you're using the Security Zone

The Security Zone has no included traffic, so you're billed for what you use from the start. Setting your expected traffic in advance when you order a server can reduce situations like this where you have to pay extra.
